Coffee chocolate chip scones

Coffee Chocolate Chip Scones

Scones are one of my favorite things to make.  I love to make them different ways and with different glazes.  And here is a new one that I made just a couple of days ago.  And it was a hit in my family.
Plus who doesn't love COFFEE and CHOCOLATE. I sure do.

I hope you guys like this as much as I do.

Mix all of the dry ingredients in a bowl.  And in a separate large bowl mix all of the wet ingredients.

Or if you are really lazy like, Yours truly! You can add all the wet ingredients plus the sugar to a large bowl and mix.  Then add the flour right on top, But don't mix it in yet. Make a little bowl in the flour without dipping into the liquid. Then add the rest of the dry ingredients and mix in with the flour.  Once the spices are mixed into the flour you can stir everything together.
I do that a lot when I don't want to dirty more dishes.  And since we have no dishwasher I try not to make more dishes as much as possible

Add the dry ingredients to the wet.  If you don't do my lazy way above.

Then add the chocolate chips and mix until combined.

Place on a nonstick surface. Or you can use parchment paper.

Spread out until it is about a 1/4 inch thick.  If you want to you can oil your hands a bit so the dough doesn't stick to your fingers.

Make indents in the top of the dough but don't cut all the way through. I made twelve pieces but you can to 8 if you want bigger slices.

Bake at 400 for 14 minutes. Let cool for ten minutes then you can break them apart.

Place on a drying rack with a tray or tin foil under the tray.  If you do tin foil make sure you curl up the edges so that none of the glaze escapes.

To Make the glaze add the Powdered sugar, coffee, and cocoa. If you need to add more powdered sugar that's ok. Or even more liquid, but just be really careful a little liquid goes a long way.

Drizzle the glaze over the scones and let stand.
