Bacon Jalapeno Poppers
Bacon Jalapeno Popper
Well, how could a recipe that starts with bacon not end up good? I mean they even put it in sweets, even though I have not been tempted to try chocolate covered bacon it is a huge thing. But bacon it amazing on virtually everything. Non the less, how could you not like bacon jalapeno poppers.
I just could not stop eating these. They were so mouthwatering I almost couldn't eat my dinner.
Fry up the bacon and don't pour out any of the grease.
Add four diced jalapenos with (make sure not to get the seeds in the mix)
I like to cook until they look a little darker. You can cook your longer if you want, but don't overcook the bacon.
I added cream cheese, Shredded cheese, feta, garlic, Onion powder, red pepper, and salt n pepper to a mixing bowl. Then pour the whole bacon mixture grease and all into a mixing bowl. You can use a hand mixer or a kitchen aid.
Whip until fully combined. And you can even snitch a bit if you like to.
Add about a teaspoon amount to the center of a won ton wrapper.
To Wrap it all up, take a corner to each of your pointer fingers and thumbs and push all corners to the center.
Pinch the corners of each four sides
You want it to look like a square.
Puch the bottom down a bit on a flat surface so that the bottom gets flat
Add to heated oil. I just do it in a frying pan with about a cup of oil, but if you want to you can use a fryer or a deep pan and lots of oil.
Totally submersing the wonton will fry every bit of the wonton and not squish the top whereas the light frying, will slightly squish the top and there will be some spots that don't bubble up.
Either way you decide to make it it will taste just as yummy.
After you fry each batch place on a paper towel covered plate.
Enjoy while they are still warm
If you have any left over you can place in a bowl and slice up a baguet. It makes a wonderful dip
Bacon Jalapeno Poppers
16 oz Cream Cheese
8 Oz Bacon
4-5 Jalapenos
1/2 Cup Shredded cheese
1/2 Cup Feta
1 Tablespoon Minced Garlic
1/2 Teaspoon Onion Powder
1 Dash Red Pepper Flakes
Salt and pepper to taste
Won ton wrappers
oil
- Cut the bacon into 1-inch bits an cook in a saucepan. Once almost cooked add the diced jalapenos.
- In a large bowl or kitchen aid mixer add shredded cheese, feta, minced garlic, onion powder, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper, and bacon mixture(grease and all). Mix with a hand mixer or kitchen aid until thoroughly combined.
- Preheat oil at about medium and start filling won ton wrappers. To fill the won tons, spoon about a teaspoon-sized dollop into the center of the won ton. Take your pointer fingers and thumbs and push all four corners inward. Crimp the creases at the corners and press the bottom slightly on a flat surface to make the bottom of the won ton flat.
- Once you have done about 6 of these the oil should be warm enough, to make sure you can put the butt of a wooden spoon into the oil and if it starts to bubble around the base the oil is ready.
- The frying should take about 2 minutes on each side. Top and bottom
- Once done frying let cooler on a plate lined with paper towels.
- And enjoy warm.
I Hope you like these as much as I do. I could eat a whole entire batch in one sitting if my stomach was big enough.
These look very delicious! I am definitely adding them to my "to make" list.
