Cinnamon Raisin Scones

Who likes sweets? Cause I sure do and so does my husband and kids. And I love love love to bake. The only downside to baking is where those delicious treat go onces you eat one, right to my caboose. And eating said sweets has lead to many sessions of Zumba and yoga meltdowns. But it is so worth it!!  So just so you know you may need to schedule a meeting with a sweat and a pair of running shoes to counteract the effects of consuming the following sweets.  Or you could just say your starting your diet tomorrow and eat this whole back all by yourself and then maybe a quart of ice cream and. What the heck your starting your diet tomorrow why don't you go get yourself a cheeseburger and fries to top it off!

So lets get started!

To Start it off I mixed all of the dry ingredients in a bowl. So the flour, baking soda, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt. And the reason you mix this before you add the ingredients is because you don't want the liquid to cling to and form a clump of baking powder or cinnamon. that would just taste gross and totally ruin the deliciousness vibe.  And preheat the oven to 400' F

Next add all the remaining ingredients, so the milk, eggs, melted butter, and raisins. Make sure you mix all they way don't want any flour lumps in the finished product.

The dough should be sticky but you should be able to poke it without the dough sticking to your finger.

Place dough on a floured surface that is large enough to roll it out on.
Roll out the dough until it is about 24 inches long.

Flatten it out till it is about 4 inches wide.
Cut triangles out of the dough.  I just use a knife.
Place on a oiled surface. I just use my silicone baking mat (I use this for everything).  Place in the preheated oven and bake for 12-14 minutes.
While the scones are in the oven lets start on the glaze.  Mix the powdered sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and then add the water very slowly a little bit at a time. You may need less than is called for.
The glaze should be thick but need to be liquid enough to drizzle
After the scones have come out of the oven and cooled for 30 minutes drizzle the glaze a spoonful at a time over all of the scones.  You can use the whole batch or use less according to how sweet you like them.
Finally let them sit so the glazer has time to harden a bit.
